Types of Entertaiment

Entertaiment

Entertainment is any activity or experience that is enjoyable for an audience. It can be as simple as watching a movie or as elaborate as a night of dancing. Choosing the right type of entertainment for your event is essential to making your event memorable. The right entertainer should have an excellent sense of humor and the ability to win over an audience. In the media, the term entertainer is commonly abbreviated as entmt.

Entertainment is spent at a zoo

Most people go to the zoo to learn about animals, but they don’t necessarily learn about the animals’ lives. Even though zoo workers have done their research on the animals’ behavior, they may not know how each one feels. Most people only spend a few seconds or minutes at each display, and leave knowing very little about these animals. This kind of attitude does little to help endangered species, which depend on public support to survive.

Many people enjoy visiting zoos, and they are particularly popular on holidays, or with families. While some people may feel upset when they learn that the animals are kept in cages, zoos have been around for a very long time. There is no moral qualms about visiting a zoo, but the animals are clearly not happy in their tiny cages.

Research has shown that captive animal behavior influences visitor experience and overall welfare. Captive animal behavior is often classified as positive or healthy behaviors, and negative or abnormal behaviors. Negative behaviors include hiding, inactivity, and repetitive behaviors. While understanding animal behavior is beyond the scope of this paper, it is important for understanding the visitors’ experience at a zoo.

The way visitors view the animals at zoos affects their views of them. In one study by Reade and Waran, non-visitors tended to think of zoo animals as less attractive, less happy, and less well-cared for than those who had a similar zoo experience.

While animal care and park upkeep are obvious expenses, zoos also incur a lot of other expenses. Advertising and fundraising expenses are just two examples. The San Diego Zoo alone spent $15,084 on advertising in 2021. The San Diego Zoo’s fundraising activities totaled $562.

According to a recent report by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, zoos attracted 183 million visitors in the U.S. in 2013 and employed about 198,000 people. In 2018, the economic impact of AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums is estimated at $22.5 billion. According to the AZA, zoos generated over $5.4 billion in personal earnings, supporting 62128 jobs off-site.

Even though zoo workers may do their best to make the animals feel comfortable, some of them are being forced to live in a cage, with no freedom to fly or roam. While they may not have any choice, they are not able to express their true feelings and are forced to live off of a pre-determined schedule.

In addition to promoting animal welfare, the modern zoo’s focus is on educating visitors and fostering an appreciation for wildlife. A recent review of research has shown that zoos can affect visitor behavior. While most research has focused on specific programs and exhibits, it has been found that visitors experience a more positive emotional state and are more likely to participate in conservation opportunities on-site.
